The scene shifts back and forth a good deal and some critics found this confusing and destructive of continuity but I found no difficulty in following the story line. Memory is not linear and orderly but rather fragmented and out of sequence, particularly when dealing with highly charged emotionally traumatic experiences. This is an exceptionally intelligent screenplay where not everything has to be spelled out. It's true that a key plot point mystery is fairly predictable. Norman Lebrecht has had a long career as a music critic and journalist. The Song of Names is his first novel, an impressive addition to his other achievements.

Not a fan of the new panoply of accents approach. Makes things confusing. Makes characters seem like they are from different countries when in fact it's just the actors. I normally like movies with music duels, and still falls very short. none of the characters make connection with the audience, they're motivation is useless and no real plot. This is all wrong. I shouldn't be up here. I should be back in school on the other side of the ocean. Yet you all come to us young people for hope. How dare you! Lol.

I wish the producers would have made all of the stories in the book. This was based on Low Men in Yellow Coats. Then there are the college days where Bobby plays Hearts with his dorm mates. blah blah blah Great story that I would have loved to have seen- But, this is a sweet, strange, violent at times, slice of life movie that is Fantastic for S. King lovers.
Just saw the movie, the acting was out of this world, just mesmerising.
